Magnificat (1997) mixed choir, organ and maracas
commissioned for MJ Hackett and St. Paul's School Choir

A short Magnificat written for Evensong at St. Paul's. I was taken by how well the latin text divided itself into 5/4, and wanted to create a contrast between the formality of the latin, and the almost folk-like quality of the english tune.
